Care Workers Forum

There are over 1.5 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of Britain’s largest workforces, and caring for some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

In Brent, 2016/17 homecare was provided to 2,578 Brent residents in total. At any one time there were around 1,800 people receiving home care. Over all 32% of Brent’s residents were low-paid in 2015-16.

70% of our service users work in the care industry. We are aware of that Brent care workers are relatively low pay and have zero hour terms and conditions. We want to see Brent home care workers are paid London Living Wages and their terms and condition improved.
