Current Projects and Opportunities

Welfare Advice Service

Our Welfare Rights Service advises residents in Brent and Enfield on benefits such as: universal credit, tax credits, personal independence payments, housing benefit, council tax support, financial support and general welfare advise.

Our qualified and experienced advisers will thoroughly assess each individual and provide tailored support to help maximise income and your full entitlement to welfare benefits.

We also offer support with food bank referrals and help with GP registrations.

Our service is available from Mon-Thu 10am — 3pm (by appointment or drop-in).

Youth Work

We provide personalised training and skills development support to young people to help them realise their potential.

We faciliate mentoring and coaching for young people with professionals to help break ‘glass ceilings’ and to help them climb ‘snowy peaks’.

We create spaces to enable young people to talk about the issues that matter to them.

We provide targeted interventions co-produced by young people to reduce violence. This includes gang-related violence, gender violence, and inter-ethnic violence.

Leadership Training

We enable, empower, and inspire local people to take up positions of leadership and responsibility. To bring about the change they want to see.

In 2021-2, we worked with SOAS University of London to deliver the Racial Equity Leadership Programme

Advocacy

Through advocacy on behalf of our diverse community, we work alongside local councils, public bodies, community leaders and local families to challenge the barriers that prevent potential from being relaised and communities from thriving.

Currently, we are advocating for care workers to receive a living wage and fair and just working conditions.

We are also raising awareness of low screening uptake for prostate and colon cancer among men and breast and ovarian cancer among women within the global majority.

Employment Support

Step-Into-Work with Step Up Hub! Our employment programme provides tailored support to those wanting to gain employment. This is a personalised programme with one-to-one specialist guidance, where one of our dedicated work coaches will provide advice and guidance into sustainable employment.

Through tailored employment maps, we will address barriers to progression and highlight areas of development as well as deliver professional skills workshops to enhance competencies in each individual. We will also train, upskill and provide continued support after employment.

Our employment programme will empower, enable and equip participants with the confidence required for success.
